Warrington Borough Ministry
Purpose of post: An overview
To enable and further the development of a community spirituality in co-operation with the variety of partnerships developed within Warrington and in an ecumenical spirit sensitive to those of all religious persuasions, and none, and in a holistic and open manner. This will be recognised as advocacy for Christ, Christianity and the Church.
Welcome opportunities for themed acts of worship and reflection deriving from community concerns, as well as those relating to cultural festivals
Maintain specific relationships with civic, statutory, voluntary, health, education, commercial, cultural and media sectors with particular focus on Warrington Borough Council, Town Centre Warrington Partnership, Golden Square chaplaincy, Warrington Guardian, Warrington-worldwide and where constitutionally possible, Local Strategic Partnership, Council for Voluntary Service, Health and Well-Being Partnership
Maintain an evangelism appropriate to the cultural context, e.g. provide opportunities to access spiritual reflection which may overcome preconceptions concerning the relevance of worship, the concern and ministry of the church
